It was Sunday afternoon and was looking to order something for family lunch, was looking for some good Hyderabadi cuisine to be precise.
Sarvi – the name quite famous for Haleem in and around Banjara Hills. Never actually been to the restaurant, always been either a take away or delivery. It’s an Irani restaurant and first thing that comes to my mind is Jujeh Kabab – that’s grilled chicken chunks, a popular Iranian dish. Had an Irani friend in college whose mom made these kebabs, they taste AMAZING. I thought they might be somewhat the same, not expecting much, ordered these and I can say they totally nailed it. The kebab was so juicy and so full of flavor grilled to perfection.
Along with these ordered a Gosht Kalimirch, they said it’s really good but the taste was disappointing the meat wasn’t cooked properly couldn’t get any flavor whatsoever. The Tandoori Chicken was again a good dish not something that’s food gasmic but yeah it’s worth a try and the last one Peshawari Barrah Kebab, that’s lamb chops flavored with black pepper. This dish made up for the bad taste Gosht Kalimirch left. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly with the right balance of black pepper totally worth the money.
The Biryani here isn’t something great. The chicken biryani had too many fried onion in it which kind of gave a sweet taste the mutton biryani was ok. Not exactly a place for true hyderabadi biryani but it’s not bad either. Didn’t try any curries here maybe I would go to the restaurant and try that. Would totally recommend this place for the Jujeh Kebab and Peshawari Barrah Kebab.
Service: can’t say since it’s a take away but they were quick didn’t make us wait long so 8/10
Food: 7.5/10( that’s just for the kebab)
Ambience: Again a take away so can’t rate
