A new addition to Madhapur food scene started a couple of months back. Dildaar dhaba as said by fellow foodies the destination for authentic Punjabi dhaba style food. I’m writing this review after my second visit to the place once for a lunch and the second for dinner.
The decor was to recreate a North Indian style dhaba, bird cages unplastered wall woven chairs, a huge thali and water being served in a lota (water pot made of brass) along with some retro bollywood music playing. Really refreshing compared to the the loud Dj mix we hear in all Punjabi restaurants these days.
Coming to the food we had chicken kebab amritsari and paneer Sulaimani Tikka and i’m not a fan of paneer but Sulaimani tikka was seriously delicious turns out they make the paneer fresh at the restaurant not store bought which is why it tastes so appetizing. Chicken amritsari was tender well cooked flavorsome kebab. So for my second visit I tried tandoori chicken which was too dry for me definitely needs improved since for non Punjabi folks we directly associate tandoori chicken as the capital food of Punjab. For mains we had mutton rogan josh amazing taste and amritsari aloo wadiyan which had a really unique taste can say the dominant flavor was of the kasuri methi. The next visit had egg masala which was boiled egg that was fried and sauted in gravy this is a must try and butter chicken along with butter naan trust me they were full on being dildaar with everything being served with generous amounts of butter unfortunately the much talked about chur chur is only available in special kulcha thali do consider making this available in roti section. The Lassi was served in a huge glass not very sweet unlike what I’ve tasted so far in other places and my friend tells me this is how authentic lassi is supposed to taste. Only downfall I wasn’t happy with the service or maybe sheer bad luck that the particular person taking our order was quite rude. Although the owner was quite courteous so was the manager. So overall I liked the place the ambience food all amazing
The service if improved would be cherry on the cake.
